Clean selected metadata from an image batch
Choose local PNG, JPEG or WebP images, choose the supported metadata categories, then generate and verify a complete ZIP. The tool treats each image as an ordered batch member. Identical files keep separate positions. Source filenames and private metadata values are omitted from the generated report.
What the tool does
The workflow removes the selected supported structural EXIF, XMP, IPTC, text and ICC metadata containers. It does not resize or re-encode image pixels. Removing an ICC color profile may change how an image is displayed; the workspace requires an explicit color-change acknowledgement when appropriate. A successful structural cleanup does not remove text or identifying objects visible in the pixels, prove that every metadata scheme is understood, or guarantee anonymity.
If a source has nontrivial EXIF orientation, such as orientation 6, selecting EXIF removal refuses the whole batch. This structural operation does not rotate or re-encode pixels to replace that orientation. Retaining EXIF also retains its orientation and other EXIF fields; inspect the result and keep the original.
Synthetic worked batch
In this checked example, three synthetic 3-by-2 images were selected in PNG, JPEG and WebP order. All five removal categories were selected, with a fresh acknowledgement for ICC removal. The complete batch contained 1,779 source bytes.
- PNG: 498 source bytes became
image-0001.png, 227 bytes. - JPEG: 1,035 source bytes became
image-0002.jpg, 812 bytes. - WebP: 246 source bytes became
image-0003.webp, 124 bytes.
The ZIP contained all three members in that order, totalling 1,163 image bytes. The three downloads were webut-image-batch.zip (1,499 bytes, including ZIP structure), webut-image-batch-report.json (5,570 bytes) and webut-image-batch-recipe.json (230 bytes). These sizes describe this synthetic example only.
The report still recorded one unknown metadata block in each output. Selected-category removal is not a complete metadata inventory or an anonymity guarantee. The compressed image payloads were retained byte for byte; this is not a decoded-pixel, color or native-viewer fidelity claim. The options recipe resets color confirmation, so importing it does not provide fresh permission to remove ICC from a later source.
Batch limits and refusal
Select at most 20 images and at most 50 MiB of combined source bytes. The finite parser also limits the batch to 100,000 container blocks and 16 MiB of metadata. The original action has a 30-second deadline, with an individual local read capped at 10 seconds. These application limits do not guarantee capacity on your device. An unsupported or invalid member refuses the whole batch rather than silently omitting that image.
This workflow supports the stated PNG, JPEG and WebP structural profile. TIFF, APNG, GIF, AVIF, HEIC, HEIF and SVG are outside this workflow. It does not offer resizing or general image conversion.
Use the downloads
Download the complete ZIP, the fixed metadata report and the options recipe. Inspect images in your intended viewer. The recipe contains options, not source images; its UTF-8 import is limited to 64 KiB and resets color confirmation. Download buttons remain available until you clear or change the work. Each click creates a temporary download link with cleanup scheduled after 20 seconds. Clear, source/options changes, cancellation and switching workflows withdraw old work. A browser download already started may remain on your device.
